Learn more in our LinkrUI article.

Improvements

We've added a portal search bar so you can quickly find your portals.

  • To protect all Dash accounts, we've added usage limits to various activities in Dash (e.g. how many fields you can have). This is unrelated to download/storage usage billing, just a technical limit. Read the full list of technical limits in this article.

  • The bin now shows freshly binned assets without requiring a refresh.

  • Bulk selected assets in the edit screen are remembered when viewing the asset details and returning to the edit screen.

Bug fixes

  • We've added a user search bar to the Users page in the Admin section.

  • Embed links are now deleted immediately after deleting an asset or removing the link.

April

Improvements ✨

🚪 Portal analytics:

  • You can now set a custom date range.

  • We've added a summary table, so you can easily see your most downloaded assets.

📷 Social media preset sizes:

  • We've updated some of the social media preset sizes to make them in line with the most current standards; these are the LinkedIn "Company logo size" preset and the Facebook "Profile photo" preset.

  • We've renamed the "Twitter" section to "X.com" instead.

Other improvements:

  • We've made it clearer when moving an item to the bin that active embeddable links will only stop working once the asset is permanently deleted from the bin.

  • Hidden system files are no longer included when uploading to Dash in bulk or when uploading folders.

  • When creating a folder during the upload process, that folder will now be automatically assigned to the assets (this can be easily un-assigned if necessary).

  • When downloading an asset, the button to select the file format (JPG, PNG etc) is now larger. This speeds up the process, especially when working through assets quickly.

Bug fixes 🛠️

There was a temporary bug where customers using the new ratings field were having issues with the Canva integration. This is now fixed.

  • Some accounts were experiencing issues with page lagging if navigating to the "Groups" page in the "Admin" section. This is now fixed.

  • Expired shares were being counted in "active share links" when deleting a user. This has now been fixed and expired shares are not included.

March

New features 🚀

Portal reporting - You can now view a breakdown of download activity from your portals, including which assets were downloaded, what size was used and when. Further improvements to this feature coming soon! Read more here.

Improvements ✨

The Filter panel is now expanded by default and remember's each user's preference across different browser sessions.

  • Our refer-a-friend scheme has been reactivated for all accounts, after being temporarily disabled due to abuse.

  • Pressing Escape in an admin panel now takes you back one level, not back to the home screen.

Bug fixes 🛠️

Newly created share links weren't respecting the expiry choice in certain scenarios.

  • Hiding a field would break the 'All assets' page filters panel until a refresh.

  • Pressing enter at the end of field creation would close the panel instead of saving the field.

January & February

New features 🚀

We're currently hard at work on some longer-term projects, largely relating to AI-powered search capabilities. Stay tuned!

Improvements ✨

If an asset with an embed link was deleted, the embed link in its end location was still working. The link is now deactivated if the asset is deleted.

  • Folder trees were expanding incorrectly under certain conditions. > Fixed

  • Some MP4 files weren’t downloading. > Fixed

  • If you had a field as your top thumbnail field, it wasn't possible to sort by this field in "All assets" view. > You can now sort by your top thumbnail field, as long as it's a text field.

  • Custom crops weren't working on images over 10,000 x 10,000px. > Fixed

Previous years

2024

December

Bug fixes 🛠️

  • We fixed a bug with embedded data mapping for controlled tags fields; sometimes the controlled tags field was not populating with all of the values contained in the embedded fields on upload. This has now been fixed.

October & November

Here's everything we released in October and November 2024, including bug fixes and smaller tweaks that don't normally get promoted, for those power users out there!

New features 🚀

Our new browsing experience lets you navigate your content in a more visual way. Read here to learn more, including extra features such as suggested filters and browsing by field!

Improvements 💫

You can now see which users are in a permission group.

  • When downloading from an embed link, the asset filename will now reflect the latest filename of that asset, not just the original as before.

  • We've improved the process when creating guest upload links, to more clearly distinguish between the guest upload link name and welcome message.

  • The experience when navigating the admin area should now be smoother; we've made it easier to exit the view after making changes.

  • Replying to a "[name] shared assets with you" email will now go to the person that shared the assets, rather than the Dash team.

Bug fixes 🛠️

Users running the TikTok Pixel Helper Google extension were experiencing issues loading Dash. This has now been fixed and the extension is now compatible with Dash.

  • A "create sub-folder" button was appearing a) in portals and b) for users who didn't have the required permissions to create folders. This is fixed.

  • Users with capital letters in their emails were not able to log in to the Canva integration. This is now fixed.

  • We've fixed a bug specific to Firefox that was causing the navigation bar in PDFs to appear in the wrong place.

  • Trimming videos was leading to a reduction in quality; this is fixed.

  • Images with a transparent background were losing their transparency if downloaded using a preset size. This is fixed.

August & September

Lots of updates this time as we've combined two months into one! Here's everything we released in August & September 2024, including bug fixes and smaller tweaks that don't normally get promoted, for those power users out there!

Improvement 💫

  • Users can now be alerted 30 days before an asset expires, rather than the previous maximum of 14 days.

  • You can now generate embeddable HTML code for videos; previously this was only available for images.

  • When sharing PDF files as "View only", it was possible to still download the asset by clicking "Print". We've now disabled this option, to make them truly View-only.

  • When someone has shared a selection of assets, users can now select from a variety of download options (custom sizes, file type etc) for all shares at once, rather than needing to go into each asset individually.

  • Newer assets in the upload area now appear first, rather than last.

  • You can now discard multiple files at once (rather than "all" or one at a time) in the upload area.

Bug fixes 🛠️

  • Discarding a file in the upload screen was not updating the "selected" count, resulting in odd behaviour such as seeing "2 out of 1" selected in the upload screen. This should now show the correct count.

  • The date format in Dash was always showing the US format (MM-DD-YYYY). This should now correspond with your browser language, as originally intended.

  • Sometimes, clicking "Done" too soon on large file uploads would result in the new assets not being uploaded. This is now fixed.

  • Some errors were showing occasionally when clicking into larger images when uploading, this has been fixed.

  • The text stating how many days ago an asset was added was corresponding to the users' browser language, even when browsing Dash in English. This has now been set so that this corresponds to the language Dash is displaying in.

July

Improvements

  • We've done significant work on making large asset uploads more stable. If this is something you've run into issues with in the past, feel free to try it out again!

  • We've been busy working hard on improving the overall browsing experience (release date TBD but it's coming soon!), so that's it for our July improvements!

Bug fixes

  • In Admin > Account > Manage your subscription, the "Primary billing contact" was listed incorrectly for some accounts. This was an issue because it's the email needed to log in to the billing portal. This has now been fixed and you'll be able to reliably use the email listed here to access the billing portal.

  • When editing multiple assets, asset counts would sometimes be off when selecting and de-selecting assets to edit (e.g. "11 of 7 assets selected"). This has now been fixed.

June

Improvements

  • Forgotten your subdomain? Now you don't need to remember it! You can now use our new login page to jump straight into your account. If your email address is used in multiple Dash accounts, we'll even show you a list to pick from.

  • New fields now sort alphabetically by default.

  • You can now add line breaks to your portal welcome message.

  • We've improved the visibility of long folder paths.

  • Improved the performance when uploading more than 500 assets.

Bug fixes

  • We've improved upload speeds. Sometimes uploads would 'hang' with a "preparing your assets" message - that should now be a thing of the past!

  • Checklists and drop-down filter values were not showing the 🚫 symbol when negated.

  • Folders weren't showing if a user had contributor access to only a single parent folder.

May

New features

  • Smart filters! Filters that contain no results will now be moved to a hidden section at the bottom of the filters panel, so you only see filters that will actually do something 🙂

Improvements

  • We've extended the inactive session logout duration from 24 hours to 7 days. So long as you log in to Dash at least once in a 7 day period, you'll stay logged in.

  • We've added a mandatory session expiry at 90 days. All users will be required to re-login again after this time, regardless of last login.

  • Added a tooltip showing the specific time a past version was uploaded (thanks Julie for the suggestion!)

  • Added an 'is empty' filter to tags
