You can find videos in Dash using more than their tags, filenames and other metadata. Search by describing what happens in a video, entering words spoken in it or searching for text that appears within it.

Three additional ways to find your videos
Describe what happens in a video
Turn on AI-enhanced search and describe the scene or topic you’re looking for in everyday language. For example, you could search for “person holding a pot plant” or “an overview of indoor plant care”.
Dash understands the overall content of a video and its individual scenes, so it can find relevant results even when those details haven’t been added as tags. Learn more about AI-enhanced search.
Search for spoken words
Enter a word or phrase spoken in a video into the Dash search bar. Dash transcribes speech in videos to make those words searchable.
This works whether AI-enhanced search is on or off. Learn more about video transcription.
Search for in-video text
Enter text that appears in a video, including titles and animated text, into the Dash search bar to find it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why aren’t some videos appearing in my search results?
The above three video search capabilities apply to videos uploaded from 30 September 2026 onwards. You can still find previously uploaded videos using their tags, filenames and other metadata, but they won’t automatically be searchable using the new capabilities.
