Inserting Dash assets from within Shopify

Learn how to add Dash images to Shopify products, pages and blog posts.

With the Dash Shopify integration, you can browse your Dash assets from within Shopify and add images without manually downloading and uploading them.

First, make sure you have installed the integration.

Insert an image into a product listing

  1. In Shopify, open the product you want to add an image to

  2. Click More actions in the menu bar

  3. Click Use image from Dash

  4. Browse, search or filter your Dash assets, then open the image you want to use

  5. Click Upload to Shopify

  6. Choose the original file or a preset size, and select your preferred format.

    To change the format, click the current format label, such as JPEG. Alternatively, click Custom download to crop, resize or choose another format, such as WEBP

💡 Tip: If you’re an Admin or Contributor, you can also edit an asset’s fields in its information pane while browsing Dash within Shopify.

Insert an image into a page or blog post

To insert a Dash image into a page or blog post, you first need to import the asset into your Shopify Files area. Then insert it into your page or blog post.

Import the image into Shopify Files

  1. Open your page or blog post in Shopify

  2. Click More actions in the menu bar

  3. Click Use image from Dash

  4. Browse, search or filter your Dash assets, then open the image you want to use

  5. Click Upload to Shopify

  6. Choose the original file or a preset size, or click Custom download to crop, resize or change the format

Add the image to your page or blog post

  1. Open your page or blog post in the Shopify editor

  2. Click Insert image in the editing toolbar

  3. Select the image you imported from Dash

Find imported Dash images in Shopify

To find images you’ve imported from Dash, go to Content > Files in Shopify.

ℹ️ Note: Importing an image creates a separate copy in Shopify. Uploading a new version in Dash does not automatically update that copy in Shopify, so you’ll need to import the updated image again.
