Resetting a user's password

Learn how to help a user regain access to Dash

There may be times when a user cannot access their Dash despite having a valid Dash account. This article lists the various reasons why a user might not be able to access their Dash, and how to resolve the issue.

User entering incorrect password


This is the most common reason why users cannot login. If a user enters an incorrect password, they will see a message like this:

If you are receiving an error confirming you've typed your email and/or password incorrectly:

  1. Ensure you are logging in with the right method. If you registered by clicking a "Sign in with ..." social login button, make sure you use that instead.

  2. Ensure you are signing in with the same email address that you received your original Dash invitation to.

If you've tried both of those steps, then you should reset your password one of two ways:

  1. Click the "Forgot password?" button on the login screen

  2. Ask your admin to send you a password reset email

To send a password reset email as an admin

  1. As an admin, go to Admin > Users & groups

  2. Select the user

  3. Click Actions

  4. Click "Send password reset email"

This will send the user an email allowing them to reset their password
