Using fields is a great way to make finding the right asset easy. Even better, you're also able to customise the order that fields will appear in your Dash. In this article, we'll cover the different places in Dash you can change this and how to do so.
1. Changing the order of fields in "Filter" view
Let's say you want to change the order that these fields appear in your filters when browsing assets:
Perhaps you want to move "Approve for use" to the top.
1. Go to Admin > Filters
2. Click the six dots on the right hand side of each field to move it around
Your filters will now be in that order in "Browse" view.
💡 Things to note:
"Folders" behaves like a field in this view.
This will change the order of fields anywhere where there are filters - in your internal Dash, in collections and in portals.
You can also move certain fields to "Hidden" to hide that field from your filters.
2. Changing the order your fields appear when viewing an asset
You may also like to change the order your fields appear when viewing an asset:
To do this:
Go to Admin > Fields
Click the six dots on the right hand side of each field to move it around
💡 Things to note:
"Folders" behaves like a field in this view.
The "Title" field is fixed at the top and can't be moved.
This applies to assets viewed via your internal Dash, share links, collections and portals.
You can also delete fields here by clicking the bin icon. This will permanently remove your field and any data associated with it.
