Reverse-lookup an asset if you only have the share link

Sometimes you might be looking at an asset in a public share page and want to locate the original asset in your Dash account.

Locating an asset from a public share page

To find an asset in Dash from a public share page:

  1. Open up the share link

  2. Click on an individual asset to show its asset details page

  3. Locate and copy the asset ID in the URL (see below)

  4. Log in to your Dash

  5. Open any asset

  6. Replace the ID in the URL of that asset (the similiar-looking text found after "...browse/") with the ID you copied

How to find the asset ID in each type of share page

Quick share links

The asset ID in quick share links is the string of text immediately preceding the "?" and after the last "/":

There are two IDs in quick share link URLs. Make sure you copy the second one.

Shared collection

You'll find the ID string in the URL after the final "/" in the URL:

Portals

You'll find the ID string in the URL after the text "...browse/" and before the "?" in the URL:
