Customising your Dash user profile

Learn how you can customise how you appear in Dash and to others

You can customise the following aspects of your user profile in Dash:

  • Your name (first and last)

  • Your profile picture

Customising your name

Your name is used to identify you in Dash's email communications (like inviting a new user into Dash, using guest uploads, etc...), as the uploader of an image, or when sharing your assets or collections with the world.

The options to customise your name depend on how you log in to Dash:

If you log in to Dash using a username and password:

  • You can customise your name by:

    • Clicking your profile icon on the Dash home screen

    • Click "Add your name..." and enter your first and last name

  • You can edit your name by clicking your name in the profile menu

If you log in to Dash via SSO (Microsoft or Google):

In this case, we will use the name provided to us by your SSO provider. To change your Dash profile name in this case, you will need to update it in your SSO account.

Customising your profile picture

We automatically create a profile picture/avatar for you. The image we use comes from the following sources:

  1. Your Google or Microsoft account, if you logged in using one of these methods

  2. Your Gravatar, if you have one

If you would like a profile picture and don't currently have one, either log in using a Google or Microsoft account, or create a free Gravatar profile using the link above.

Alternatively, if you do not use either of the above two options, your default profile picture will be your initials (first and last name). See the following section on how to upload a profile picture.

Uploading a profile picture

If you do not log into Dash via SSO (Microsoft or Google), you can directly upload a profile picture:

  1. Click on your profile icon on the Dash home screen

  2. Click on your profile icon in the profile menu that appears

  3. Upload a photo from your computer

  4. You can then resize the photo before saving it to your profile

Note that if you have a Gravatar profile, you are able to overwrite your Gravatar picture used in Dash by uploading a new picture (following the steps above). This will not affect your Gravatar picture used outside of Dash.

Editing or deleting a profile picture

If you do not log into Dash via SSO (Microsoft or Google), you can edit or delete an uploaded profile picture by:

  1. Click on your profile icon on the Dash home screen

  2. Click on your profile icon in the profile menu that appears

  3. You can then either select:

    1. "Change photo" to upload a new photo from your computer

    2. "Remove photo" to delete your current photo
