Installing LinkrUI

Learn how to install and configure LinkrUI to be able to access your assets within various creative workflow applications

You can access your Dash assets from within Adobe, Google, Microsoft and other applications using our LinkrUI integration.

This article shows you how to install LinkrUI. Note that this process is the same for starting a two week free trial of LinkrUI as well as for downloading LinkrUI if you already have a licence.


Obtaining your licence

In order to use LinkrUI, you need an "activation code". You can have a two week activation code to try LinkrUI for free. If you would like to sign up, we'll send you a new code specific to your subscription.

Obtaining your trial/paid activation key

  1. As an admin, navigate to Admin > Integrations

  2. Locate the relevant integration section (e.g. "Adobe Creative Cloud")

  3. Click the "Start 14-day free trial" button

  4. Press enter in the chat that pops up to send us a message that you'd like to start a LinkrUI trial

  5. We'll provide you with the download links and your trial activation code, which you'll need to use LinkrUI.

If your organisation already has a LinkrUI licence

If your organisation already has an active LinkrUI licence, you just need to:

  1. Install the plugin using the links below

  2. Request the activation key from your Dash administrators


How to install LinkrUI

Installing LinkrUI for Adobe Creative Cloud

Expand the appropriate section below based on your operating system:

MacOS

  1. Download LinkrUI for Adobe Mac installation file (this is also provided during the automated in-app chat when requesting an activation code)

  2. Open the file

  3. Double-click the "LinkrUI" icon in the window that appears

  4. Follow the steps until the installation completes and you can click "Continue". You can leave all the installation settings as default.

Windows

  1. Download the LinkrUI for Adobe Windows installation file (this is also provided during the automated in-app chat when requesting an activation code)

  2. Open/unpack the zip file

  3. Run the LinkrUI.exe installation file that is extracted

  4. Follow the instructions until the installation is complete

Installing LinkrUI for Microsoft Office

  1. The web link will take you to the plugin page in the Microsoft app store.

  2. From here, click "Get it now" and fill in some basic details to begin the download. You may need to sign in with a Microsoft account.

  3. Choose the initial application you'd like to open the plugin in.

  4. Once your application opens, you'll see a "New Office Add-in" side panel:


  5. Click "Allow and Continue".

  6. You may have to accept some additional permissions.

💡 Once you've set up LinkrUI with one Office application, it should then be available in all other installed Office applications.

Installing LinkrUI for Google Workspace

  1. Navigate to the LinkrUI for Google Workspace listing in the Google Workspace Marketplace

  2. Click "Install"

  3. Follow the authentication steps until you see this screen titled "LinkrUI for Google Workspace has been installed!"

Installing LinkrUI for Social

  1. Click this link to go to the LinkrUI for Figma plugin page

  2. Click "Open in..."

  3. Select the existing project you'd like to use LinkrUI in, or create a new one

  4. Click "Run" in the LinkrUI panel you see when the project opens


Finding and logging in to the LinkrUI plugin

Now you've installed LinkrUI, you can open your chosen creative workflow application, open up the LinkrUI plugin, login and start using it!

How to find the LinkrUI panel

Adobe Creative Cloud

Photoshop

You can find the LinkrUI panel in Photoshop by clicking "Window" > "Extensions (legacy) > LinkrUI

InDesign

You can find the LinkrUI panel in InDesign by clicking "Window" > "Extensions" > "LinkrUI"

Microsoft Office

You can find the LinkrUI icon in the Home toolbar:

Google Workspace

You'll find the LinkrUI plugin in the 'Extensions' menu within Google Docs/Sheets/Slides

Figma

Click the 'Actions' button in the Figma toolbar. LinkrUI should be listed there, otherwise use the search bar to find it.


Activating your LinkrUI licence

Once you've located and opened the LinkrUI panel, you'll need to activate your licence.

You should see a "LinkrUI Activation" panel:

  1. Enter your name, email and activation key (if you don't have an activation, see "Obtaining your licence" above.

  2. Click "Activate".

  3. You will now be asked to provide your Dash account and log in to it. In the panel, first enter your Dash URL, for example "planto.dash.app" and click "Authenticate".

  4. You'll be taken to a webpage where you should log in to your Dash in the way you normally do.

  5. If successful, you should see a "Authentication complete. You can now use LinkrUI." message. You can close the browser tab and return to your application where the panel should now be showing your Dash assets.
