Why has the price shown in my invoice increased?
Dash subscriptions grow with your usage. We don't place restrictions on usage, to allow your users to always receive value when they need it. We monitor your usage and adjust your subscription accordingly.
The reason for an increase in an invoice will depend on which aspect of your subscription allowance you exceeded. These can include:
Excess downloads
Excess storage
For legacy plans (known as Starting/Growing/Dashing):
Excess assets
Excess users
What happens when we exceed our allowance?
For storage
If you exceed your storage allowance, we will add another pack of storage to your subscription. These come in packs of 10GB or 50GB, depending on your plan.
For monthly downloads
If you exceed your monthly download allowance two months in a row, we will move you to the next plan up.
When do you apply any increases?
For monthly plans
For monthly plans, we apply the increase on your next monthly renewal date
For annual plans
For annual plans, we'll increase your subscription on your equivalent monthly renewal date (i.e. the date in the month that you signed up on). This will be a pro-rata charge to cover the increase until the end of your current term.
How can I check my storage and download usage?
Any admin can can view your download usage at any time by navigating to Admin > Account in your Dash.
Will my subscription decrease if I download less in future from my Dash?
Your download allowance will not automatically reduce if your usage reduces. However, just get in touch with us on help@dash.app and we'll be happy to review your usage and lower your plan accordingly.
Why was I moved to a higher plan even though I didn't exceed my existing plan's download allowance?
If you have been upgraded to a higher plan, even though you haven't exceeded your existing plan's download allowance, this will be because this is cheaper than adding further storage to your current plan. There reaches a point where to keep adding storage to your existing plan will actually cost you more than moving to the next plan up, so we'll always find the most cost effective solution for you and switch you to the new plan to save you money!
What counts as a download?
Please refer to this article for the full list of what activities count as a download.
Why wasn't I notified about this increase?
We send the following notifications via email to your primary account contact:
For storage
We send a confirmation of the storage increase on your invoice date
For monthly downloads
We provide a warning a month in advance that you have exceeded your download allowance. If you are still in excess the second month, we will upgrade you to the next plan that provides sufficient downloads, and will send a confirmation email when that has happened.
